P5 & P6 Subjects
English: The Art of Precision (Paper 2)
(2 hours each lesson)
Our English curriculum is split into two specialised pillars to ensure total coverage of the MOE examination components:
Paper 2 Mastery (Language Use & Comprehension): We deconstruct the "formula" behind Synthesis & Transformation and Cloze Passages. For Comprehension Open-Ended, we move beyond simple finding-and-copying; we teach students to analyse question types, identify nuanced clues, and craft precise answers that meet strict marking criteria.
English: The Art of Narrative (Paper 1)
(2 hours each lesson)
Creative Writing (Continuous Writing): We transform standard compositions into compelling narratives. Students learn to move away from "cliché" plots, instead focusing on vivid descriptions (Show, Don't Tell), character development, and impactful themes. We teach them how to weave values and emotional depth into their stories, making their work stand out to examiners.
Mathematics: Advanced Heuristics & Speed
(2 hours each lesson)
At the PSLE level, Math is about agility and strategy. We focus on high-level Heuristics and Problem-Solving for Paper 2, ensuring students can identify the correct "tools" for complex ratio, percentage, and volume questions. We emphasise:
Speed & Accuracy: Mastering Paper 1 to build a solid foundation of marks.
Alternative Strategies: Teaching multiple ways to solve a problem so students have a "Plan B" during the exam.
Metacognition: Encouraging students to check their own logic and learn from "careless" mistakes.
Science: Application & Inquiry Mastery
(2 hours each lesson)
Science at P5 and P6 requires a shift from knowing facts to applying concepts to "unseen" scenarios. Our approach focuses on:
Experimental Design: Deepening the understanding of variables, fair tests, and reliability—frequent focal points in PSLE booklets.
The "Link" Method: We train students to explicitly link the Scientific Fact to the Specific Evidence provided in the question.
Keywords & Templates: Providing structured answering frames for Open-Ended Questions (OEQs) to ensure students use the precise vocabulary required for full marks.
